Japanese iron sukashi tsuba made by late generation Hoan School. With NBTHK Hozon Tosogu.
Tsuba made of iron and decorated with uncommon style paulownia motif (Kiri). Lower part of the tsuba in my opinion looks like a dead tree branch.
There is an interesting damaged part on the lower part of the rim. All of its surroundings looks like other parts of the tsuba so I believe it is an original feature of the tsuba. Maybe something went wrong and maker attempted to fix it?
