Shakudo nanako fuchikashira decorated with swallows and willows. It is a common theme in Japanese art. It is associated with arrival of a spring. I think that this meaning was reinforced with an artist decision to cover whole willows with gold iroe. I can practically feel the warmth of the spring sun looking at it.
Pictures of this set were made with macro flash photography that highlights every little imperfection. In real life it looks really beautiful.
