Wakizashi Koshirae - Shakudo Kiri Mon Menuki - Iron Fittings
Wakizashi koshirae with shakudo kiri mon menuki.
Red saya with black stripes. There is a visible gold layer of urushi under the red one so It was repainted. Besd on the condition and color I would say that outer layer was made in 19th century. Kozuka and kogai slots decorated with silk. It is in very poor condition now and most of the material is gone. It looks like kurikata and kojiri where changed few times over the years. Koiguchi in very good condition.
Tsuka with iron fuchikashira. Fuchi decorated with gold nuome zogan inlay and carved ropes. Kashira in handachi style. They are not part of an original set. Menuki made of shakudo with nanako and gilded kiri mon.
Tsuka ito is damaged. On thread is torn just under the fuchi.
