Kozuka signed "Kawahosai" which is one of the names used by Kawarabayashi Hideoki. With Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu and Dr. Terigoye Hakogaki. Hideoki was born in 1788 and died 1851 at the age of 64. He was a member of Kawarabayashi family. He was a student of Otsuki Mitsuoki and part of the Otsuki School.

Decorated with drying fish nets and pine grove. Design of this piece is absolutely stunning. Pine tress made with shakudo hira zogan, while trunks and ground are made with single deep strokes of chisel. On the other hand waves are cut so gently that they only appear when kozuka is moved in hand and light brakes on them. Fishnets connect those two with deep outer lines and very gentle inner lines. Three gold inlaid birds are decorating the skyline.

Made of suaka with gold and shakudo inlay.

Size: 98 mm x 15 mm x 5 mm

In custom made hakogaki by Dr. Terigoye.
