Iron tsuba attributed to Ko-Shoami School with NBTHK Hozon Tosogu. Please take a note that it is a Ko-Shoami tsuba made in sukidashi tababori with inaly and iroe. Most Ko-Shoami are sukashi tsuba, sometimes with nunome zogan. Therefore this is very rare item.
Made of iron with amida yasurime ground. Carved with sukidashi takabori and decorated with inlay and iroe.
Size: 86 mm x 83 mm x around 3 mm at seppa dai
Based on NBTHK attribution to Ko-Shoami this tsuba was made in Muromachi to Momoyama period. I would place it on the later end of this spectrum, so Momoyama. Without NBTHK attribution I would consider it as early Edo piece.
