Fuchikashira depicting battel of Dan-No-Ura. This battel was won by Minamoto Clan and resulted in death by suicide of young Emperor and his grandmother. On fuchi we can see Minamoto No Yoshitsune making "Eight Boat Leap", so jump from one boat to another.
Made of shakudo with nanako ground, copper and silver inlay and a lot of gilded elements. Details on this set are amazing. We can clearly see Minamoto No Yoshitsune sword, naginata, armour and even maedate on kabuto. While watching on big screen please remember that this is a small item in magnification. This piece looks much better in real life than on photos.
This type of fuchikashira are attributed to Soten School.
There is a shakudo shitodome in this set that was not included in the pictures.
