Iron Nanban School Tsuba Decorated With Dragons and Vines
Iron Nanban School tsuba decorated with dragons and karakusa. In my opinion this tsuba would be classified as Nanban, however it is most definitely made in Japan. It has a wonderful and strong shape that we would not see on imported pieces.
Please take a closer look at shape of the mimi with well made five separate surfaces and spike at each side of the tsuba. That is beautifully made.
Made of iron and decorated with gold nunome zogan.
