Iron Soten Style Tsuba decorated with Rashomon theme. This story originated in Noh theater. Watanabe Tsuna got into an argument with Hirai Yasumasa over the rumor about an Oni (demon) at Rashomon gate. Quick tempered Tsuna headed for the gate in the middle of the night with a sign board he promised to place in front of the gate, to prove he was actually there. After he placed the board and started to withdraw Oni appeared and grabbed his kabuto. Tsuna managed to free himself from Oni grasp and cut off one of demons hands, after that Oni disappeared.
Tsuba made of iron and decorated with gold nunome zogan.
Made in late Edo period.
