Iron Hikone-bori tsuba. Decorated with battle of Ichi No Tani. This scene depicts Minamoto No Yoshitsune with a small number of his most trusted man riding down almost vertical cliff to land a surprise attack on Taira forces. To read more about Minamoto No Yoshitsune and his life I recommend "Samurai Raising" by Pamela S. Turner. It is very interesting and informative book.
Made of iron in Hikone-bori. With copper, gold and silver inlay.
