Iron tsuba signed "71 Years Old, Ichirin" with NBTHK Hozon Tosogu. Ichirin was born in Harada family in 1801. At the age of thirty he became a Gotō Ichijiō student. He died on 14 October 1881. This tsuba was made when he was 71 years old, so in 1872.
Tsuba is made of iron with mokume ground, folds are especially visible on and around the rim. Decorated with gold nunome zogan inlay. Dragon teeth made with silver inlay.
