Iron Tsuba signed "Choshu Takayuki" (H. 09353.0), According to Haynes Index he was active around 1850. Based on the descripton there is very similar tsuba to the one I have in Naunton catalog p. 64 "Tsuba with smooth surface carved with three horses in a mountain landscape, the tree in nanako punch marks, signed Choshu Takayuki in very flowing sosho kanji". This description seems perfect for the tsuba at hand.
Condition: front is in reasonably good condition with small signs of rust, back side has many more. Rust was removed but damages where made to a otherwise smooth polished surface.
Size: 69 mm x 64 mm x 4mm
