Iron tsuba signed "Yoshitake" made in Soten School style. Tsutsui Yoshitake lived in Hikone and was a Soten School student. According to Haynes active around 1700-1725.
This tsuba shows a story of Yu Rang. Zhao Xiangzi was responsible for death of Yu Rang master. To take his vengeance he started to gradually disfigure and cripple himself to make a perfect disguise and get close to Zhao Xiangzi. However despite that he was not able to do it. Zhao Xiangzi admired Yu Rang loyalty. After being caught the second time Yu Rang was given Zhao Xiangzi coat to perform symbolic vengeance on it. After stabbing It three times he committed suicide.
