Kikka-Gata Ko-Kinko Shakudo Tsuba with Nanako and Gold Iroe
Kikka-Gata (chrysanthemum shaped) Ko-Kinko tsuba. Made of shakudo and decorated with nanako ground and gold iroe.
Almost identical tsuba is published on page 89 of "Uchigatana Koshirae published by Tokyo National Museum". It is part of a Nagamitsu tachi koshirae, which according to sayagaki was presented from Oda Nobukatsu to Honda Masashige when he became a retainer of Kaga-Maeda, so around 1611. Koshirae was most probably made a bit later.
