Soft metal tsuba with NBTHK Hozon Tosogu, according to NBTHK made by Ko-Kinko School. Decorated with autumn flowers.
According to NBTHK it is made of shakudo. In my opinion it is lacquered black with visible copper base underneath. It is possible that it in fact is shakudo however in my opinion this is suaka or yamagane. It is a very interesting thing to think about, taking in too consideration age of discolouration and how each alloy patinates by itself. Please make a judgment by yourself.
With nanako ground and gold iroe.
