Kozuka decorated with herd of horses. I had this kozuka for years in my private collection but because there is no signature I never shipped it for Shinsa. I think that general attribution for it would be Kyo-Kinko, however I hope that if sent NBTHK might give it a better one. Possibly Ichinomiya School? Please let me know the verdict If you decide to buy it and send it for NBTHK Shinsa.
Made of great quality dark black shakudo with nanako ground. Decorated with gold iroe.
This kozuka makes a real impression in original size. The difference in size of adult horses and young ones is stunning. At first glance big ones appear small and then we see the young ones which are almost hard to spot. Especially the one on the left.
Made in late edo period.
