Shakudo nanako fuchikashira decorated with "Shunme", that is an excellent, fast horse. This fuchikashira has beed awarded NBTHK Hozon Tosogu and is attributed to Yanagawa School.
Yanagawa School was founded by Naomasa (1692-1757), who studied under 1st. generation Yokoya Somin. There where four generations of Yanagawa School masters. Last one of them was Naotsure whose date of death is unknown, however there is a work by him extant with date 1825.
This horse design is very similar to works of Yokoya School.
There are some minor scratches of the gold on the edges. However I would say that overall condition is excellent.
Made in middle Edo period.
